Processing Femininity

$600.00
The imagery of a young woman is fashioned within a microprocessing chip that has gold wire circuitry emanating from it. The microchip and wiring are mounted upon a green marble paper that suggests
a green circuit board. Though made of paper, this piece mimics the aesthetic of microprocessing technology to suggest this integrated circuit is somehow 'processing' the nuances of femininity.

These nuances are very mysterious to me and I created this piece after realizing I harbored some internalized misogyny associated with the art of scrapbooking and a machine called the Cricut. The Cricut is often used by scrapbookers and automatically cuts simple and complex shapes, as demonstrated in this piece. I've completely changed my attitude on scrapbooking and the Cricut and used it to create this piece.

I seek to become a more feminine person and am learning how to identify and overcome misogyny when I encounter it in life. This piece is an encapsulation of that experience and embraces learning about femininity.
