Reliquary for Don't Ask, Don't Tell

$300.00
Inside this reliquary is a homosocial relationship between a naval officer and a soldier.

The history of the US military was, and is, a microcosm of American life that forced queer people to hide themselves and avoid persecution. US military policies (along with many militaries around the world) dishonorably discharged men who were gay. More recent policies such as 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell" tried to negotiate the willingness to tolerate queer people in the military but not awknowledge their existence. This piece encapsulates this history of queer discrimination.

Art registry number and information are on the back.
